Hey, Mom. How are you? Things are ok, I suppose. It’s that time of year for hustle and bustle, but I’m not really feeling it. I’ve got most of my shopping done, although Santa is befuddled by what to get Ramsey this year. We really want to do something special for her, but we just don’t know what. Or at least, we don’t know what with the time we have remaining until Christmas.
We of course missed you yesterday for her birthday. I’ll tell you a birthday story, then share the video. We all went to Costco after horses on Saturday. We needed to cash our rewards certificate and pick up some paper products. While we were in the store, Ramsey wanted to go down the toy aisle. I encouraged it because anytime she can give us ideas is great. She did not disappoint. She found this massive dollhouse and plopped right down in front of it to play.

She was determined we were leaving with it. She did not get her way, and the dramatics ensued. We left Costco with a very disappointed little girl, who was also hangry. After feeding the beast, she seemed better. Sandra wanted to get the dollhouse for her, so I went back to Costco later that evening to get it. Cliff and I were up until 2 AM putting that thing together. But her reaction was worth it.
She had a pretty good birthday. In addition to the dollhouse, she got a set of toys she requested from us; a skateboard, dart board, punching bag and horse stable from Nanie and PaPa; a space tablet from Jennifer and Richard; and some new dolls for her house from Jade. She got to have her favorite foods as well as some chocolate cake. And it wouldn’t be complete without wearing her birthday hat.

In other news, I’m still on a liquid diet. I’m starting to feel a bit hangry myself. I can’t believe I’m looking forward to eating puréed food, but I’ve already planned my first day of meals. I had a rough time right after surgery, but I’m feeling a lot better today. I guess I’ve healed well, and now I’m just cruising until I can start eating again on Friday. I did lose almost 20 lbs during the first week, so something is working.
Also, look at my new cozy nap space. Works well for my lunch break at work. I’m not eating anyway, so I might as well rest.

Well, it’s almost time for me to take advantage of my cozy space. I love you, Mom. And even though you’re not physically with us this year, I still got something for you.
